Frequently asked questions
Everything important about pricing, verification, prices, data sets and fair play.
Can I correct or withdraw a job?
Yes. During the first 10 minutes after posting at any time, including "Correct and repost": all details and the data set are carried over. After that you can cancel as long as there is no bid yet. If bids have already come in, cancelling is only possible with a reason, for example if the patient has cancelled. The labs that have already calculated can see your reason.
Can I decide who sees my job?
Yes. You choose the search radius: regional (labs within your radius, 50 km by default, adjustable from 5 to 100 km in your profile), nationwide, or nationwide excluding your radius. Cross-border jobs will follow once DentalCube is up and running in Germany. You can also release the job to independent labs only.
Can I get a list for my bookkeeping and taxes?
Yes. Under “Mein Profil” (my profile) you can download all DentalCube jobs and commissions of a year as a CSV file. It is an open format: it opens in Excel, LibreOffice or Numbers and can be read into any accounting software.
Can I join already?
Yes. Register your lab for free. We check every registration and get back to you. During the test phase selected labs already work with the platform; everyone else joins at launch.
Can I show my jobs to certain labs first?
Yes. Mark labs as regular partners. When posting you choose whether the job is shown only to your regular partners for 2 to 24 hours first. After that it goes to the open exchange automatically.
Can I show that I have spare capacity?
Yes. Under “Mein Profil” (my profile) report what you have free and until when, for example “5-axis mill free Thu/Fri”. Other labs see it in their overview and in your profile, but only if you choose to show it. After the date the notice disappears automatically.
Can several staff members get their own login?
Yes. In addition to the main login, the owner can create up to five personal logins under “Mein Profil” (my profile) for staff who act for the lab, and delete them at any time. Login details are personal and must not be shared.
How are prices set?
Openly and from the start: you state your target price when posting. Bidding labs enter production and delivery. You always see the total price and can sort by price, delivery date or rating.
How do I reach DentalCube?
Via the contact form on the website, by email or, after logging in, via the button “DentalCube kontaktieren” at the bottom right. We reply personally and you see the answer directly in the platform.
How do ratings work?
Only labs that have completed a job via DentalCube can leave a rating. Both labs rate each other with stars, for example for quality, punctuality and communication. The rated lab can reply publicly once.
How does the price list work?
Under “Mein Profil” (my profile) you store your prices per type of work and material, optionally with a base price, delivery costs and delivery time. On a matching job you immediately see your ready bid and take it over with one click. Other labs cannot see your price list.
How is my lab verified?
We check every registration by hand, including the VAT ID via the EU VIES system or, for Swedish labs, the organisation number. We then conclude a user agreement with you. As soon as your lab is activated, you receive your access by email.
How is my QM certificate shown as verified?
Under “Mein Profil” (my profile) upload a certificate according to ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 issued by an accredited certification body. DentalCube checks that it belongs to your lab, who issued it and until when it is valid. Your profile then shows “QM certificate verified on …, valid until …”. This says nothing about the quality of the work; the notice disappears when the certificate expires.
Is DentalCube a competitor of my lab?
No. DentalCube only connects. We have no machines of our own and produce no dental work. Responsibility for the job, quality and MDR compliance lies with the labs involved (details in the user agreement § 4 no. 3).
Is there a minimum order value?
DentalCube does not set one. Every contractor can set its own minimum order value in its profile; jobs below it are not shown to it.
What do auction, price proposal and instant award mean?
In an auction, labs bid until a fixed deadline and can underbid each other. The client chooses the duration: 3, 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours. With a price proposal, bids come in and you can reply with a counter-offer. With instant award your price is a fixed price: the first lab to accept wins the job.
What does DentalCube cost?
Registering and posting jobs is free. Only the lab that takes on a job pays a commission of 0.99% (plus VAT) of the net production price when the job is awarded; no commission is charged on delivery costs. There is no annual fee and no base fee. You can optionally book Premium for €29 net per month.
What does Premium offer?
Premium adds the calculation tool, the job alert, personal analytics and a highlighted profile to the free exchange. Your calculation data stays on your device or encrypted in your vault; DentalCube cannot read it. Premium never changes the order of bids.
What happens to my data set?
You upload your STL, PLY or OBJ file when posting. It is kept in private storage, and only the lab that wins the job can download it via a time-limited link. It is deleted automatically 30 days after the job is completed. Please do not upload patient data.
What if something goes wrong?
Both sides can report a problem on the job page. DentalCube reviews every report and talks to both labs. After three confirmed complaints within 12 months a lab can be suspended, and immediately in case of serious breaches such as fraud or deliberately false information. Every suspension is explained and the lab can appeal.
Where is my data stored?
The database and data sets are stored in Ireland, and the platform’s server functions run in Dublin. The public pages of the website are delivered via our hosting provider’s worldwide delivery network. Data sets travel directly between your browser and the storage in Ireland and are deleted 30 days after the job is completed. Some service providers are based in the USA; details are in the privacy policy.
Which languages is DentalCube available in?
The website is available in German, English and Swedish. The platform for jobs is in German during the test phase; Swedish follows with the launch in Sweden.
Who can join?
Commercial dental labs, milling centres and dental practices from Germany and Sweden, acting as businesses. Any activated business can award work. Only laboratories can take on jobs, and only with approval as a manufacturer of custom-made devices: in Germany, labs confirm the MDR declaration. Dental practices, including those with an in-house lab or within a medical care centre (MVZ), only award work. In Sweden, registration with the Läkemedelsverket is required. Lab groups and milling centres are labelled. Further countries are to follow.
